Happy Thanksgiving!
Today I'm grateful that we moved to Pennsylvania. It wasn't love at first sight, but it has been a good move for our family. We have a good ward, neighborhood, and there is a lot of history in this part of the country. We are still close to New Jersey and hopefully we can visit those people next year when Covid blows over a bit. We will always miss living close to a beach like when we were in Florida, but this is still a really good place. I don't think my kids realize how rare it is to read so many stories about famous people from our history, and the people are from places we've lived or been to. We have studied three different artists this year from Pennsylvania (Mary Cassatt, Andrew Wyeth, and Horace Pippin) and I didn't even know they are from here when we decided to study them! We just finished studying about George Washington, and Valley Forge is only an hour away. We read a lot about Benjamin Franklin this week, and of course Philly was his place. Philadelphia is close, D.C. is close, and NYC isn't too far. We do live in a rural area, which was hard for me at first. No Target! But somehow I'll survive. Our budget has certainly survived better.
I am so glad this has been such a good move for you guys!
